LAW | Special issue of the journal “Recht der Medizin” (Medical Law) on the use of AI in medicine published

The special issue 04a/2026 of the journal *Recht der Medizin* (RdM) on the topic of “The Use of AI in Medicine” has been published. The editors are Assistant Professor Dr. Katharina Huber and Professor Dr. Karin Bruckmüller from the Faculty of Law at Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna.

The issue contains the contributions from the 3rd Austrian Digital Law Conference, which the two editors organized at SFU Vienna. The legal section focuses in particular on liability issues related to the use of artificial intelligence in medicine from both civil and criminal law perspectives. Contributions are by Simon Laimer, Clemens Danda, Mara-Sophie Häusler, Katharina Huber, Karin Bruckmüller, and Stefan Schumann. Interdisciplinary perspectives are provided by Gabriele Bolek-Fügl and Maurice Stenzel. From a practical perspective, Harald Aumair/Cornelia Fröschl, Thomas Taapken, and Kristina Altrichter/Katrin Forstner address the challenges of AI governance.
