LAW | SFU hosted a successful 3rd Austrian Digital Law Day
On 27 January, Karin Bruckmüller and Katharina Huber – both from the Faculty of Law – hosted the 3rd Austrian Digital Law Day on the topic of AI in Medicine, drawing a large audience to Sigmund Freud University Vienna.
The event was opened by Vice-Rector Teresa Schön and Dean Elke Heinrich-Pendl, alongside co-organiser Katharina Huber, who stepped in for the ailing co-organiser and Vice-Dean Karin Bruckmüller, on whose initiative the conference was founded.
Highlights included presentations by:
- Gabriele Bolek-Fügl and Marcel Stenzel on Using AI – Humans Still Needed, moderated by Meinhild Hausreither in the interdisciplinary session.
- Simon Laimer, Mara Häusler, Katharina Huber, and Stefan Schumann on liability issues related to AI in medicine from civil and criminal law perspectives, moderated by Benedikt Wallner and Gerhard Aigner.
- An interdisciplinary practice panel on AI Governance, featuring Nathalie Alon, Katrin Forstner / Kristina Altrichter, Isabella Hinterleitner, Harald Aumaier, Clemens Danda, and Florian Madner, moderated by Lena Urban.
